PSYCHOLOGY AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT- The Department of Psychology and Child Development in the College of Liberal Arts at California

Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), San Luis Obispo, California, invites applications for one full-time lecturer position(s) to begin September 14, 2023. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of an extension to a second year. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Duties and responsibilities include teaching in our undergraduate program (specialization open to any one of the following: Developmental Psychology, Social and Personality Psychology, Clinical and Counseling Psychology, Neuroscience, Experimental Psychology). MS or equivalent in Psychology or a closely related field. Demonstrated evidence of or potential for excellence in teaching at the university level required; ABD or PhD preferred. Preference given to those who can teach in-person at our campus in San Luis Obispo, CA. Applicants who can only teach online will be considered but must be located in California.

Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2022, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:

Lecturer A: $4,530-$6,056

Lecturer B: $5,405-$11,994

Lecturer C: $6,190-$13,172

Lecturer D: $7,794-$13,797

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching, as well as the ability to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings is required. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language is required.

MS in Psychology or a closely related field and demonstrated evidence of or potential for excellence in teaching at the university level required; ABD or PhD preferred.

The Psychology and Child Development Department consists of 25 tenure-track faculty, over 20 part-time lecturers, 650 undergraduate students and 30 master's students in Psychology and Child Development. The department's website is https:// psycd.calpoly.edu.
