  • This project is focused on the development of an ultrasounds control system able to perform the inspection of the liner of full-scale combustion chambers, characterized by complex geometry. Requested activities are the following: To participate to ultrasounds machine development; To setup and optimize the ultrasounds control scan process of ALM combustion chambers; To implement a user-friendly tool to manage the ultrasounds post-processing and map visualization; To implement a user-friendly tool to manage the liner thickness measurement; To improve and fine tune the liner thickness method, developed in AVIO; To test the tools on ultrasounds datasets available in AVIO for ALM products; To validate the implemented measured method by calibration on dedicated ALM samples

    Eligibility criteria

    master degree, PhD, publications and other research products, specialisation diplomas and attendance certificates for post-graduate courses, all other academic titles

    REQUIREMENTS: Master's Degree in disciplines related to Aerospace Engineering; Solid theoretical knowledge in the field of liquid propellant space engines ASSETS: Solid background in materials, structures, and measurement techniques; Knowledge of liquid rocket propulsion systems and their characteristics; Knowledge of engineering tools like Matlab and Mathematica; Knowledge of simulation software for the modeling and analysis of multidomain systems like AMESIM or ECOSIM Pro; Knowledge of the Product Development Process (with involvement in all the designing phases, from the conceptual studies to the final qualification); The title of Second Level Master in Space Transportation Systems or similar will be considered a preferential title
