  • Position Summary
  • One temporary hourly-intermittent Work Study Student Assistant position in Admissions and Outreach Services.

  • Start Date

  • Position available on or after November 1, 2022 and ending on or before May 23, 2023. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

  • Job Description/Duties

  • Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Greet, direct, and assist visitors by answering questions and providing information. •
  • Answer, assist, and direct telephone calls using the main line of the department.
  • Promptly retrieve, forward, and return all messages left on voicemail.
  • Promptly retrieve faxes, log them, and deliver to the recipient.
  • Process and route mail deliveries to the department.
  • Ensure reception and lobby areas are neat, clean, and presentable.
  • Sanitize reception and lobby areas at the end of each day.
  • Check in prospective students/walk-ins to meet with admissions counselors.
  • Assist with gathering materials that are needed by the Admissions counselors.
  • Direct and help check in prospective students and their families with campus tours.
  • Provide prospective students with basic admissions status information or check lists.
  • Perform general clerical support by filing, proofreading, data entry, and word processing.
  • Other duties as assigned.


     Preferred Qualifications: 
     Demonstrates experience working in a professional office or customer service setting.
     Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse environment with students, and staff.
     Demonstrates the availability to work Monday-Saturday between the hours of 8:00a.m.-8:00p.m.
     Demonstrates the ability to adhere to established work hours.
     Demonstrates the ability to maintain confidentiality.
     Demonstrates the capacity to be friendly, social and dependable.
     Demonstrates strong critical thinking skills.
     It is preferred, but not required, that the incumbent possesses bilingual skills.

    Required Qualifications:

     Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
     Must have received and accepted Financial Aid award for the current semester/year in which you are applying.

     $15.00 per hour
