Position Title Founding Program Director - Dental HygienePosition Summary
California Baptist University, an evangelical Christian university affiliated with the California Southern Baptist Convention, invites applications for a Founding Program Director for a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. Candidates must embrace the mission of California Baptist University and demonstrate a clear understanding of, and commitment to, excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service through the integration of the Christian faith and learning. A doctoral degree is preferred, although candidates with a master's degree and relevant license and certifications may be considered. This is a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track position with an anticipated start date of July 10, 2023.
Pay Range
$105,000 – $165,000 annually
Qualifications
Qualified applicants must have graduated from a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and hold current dental hygienist licensure (or eligibility) in California. Applicants also must have an earned master's degree in dental hygiene, public health, health science, or a closely related field; a minimum of seven years as a dental hygiene instructor, minimum five years of program administration, and a minimum five years of clinical practice experience, or a proven track record of an equivalent combination required; excellent interpersonal, written, and computer skills.
Teaching Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be charged with building the Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene program. Primary responsibilities include preparing curriculum for approval by university, state, and professional entities; seeking all required accreditation and state authorizations; collaborating to design and implement a facility renovation; recruiting and training didactic and clinical faculty; creating a robust program of assessment; implementing effective strategies for student recruitment and retention; course load to be determined in consultation with the Provost; the successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellent teaching and will be expected to maintain an active program of personal scholarship and service to the university, community, and the profession.
