A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our team. We are looking to recruit a Food & Beverage Team Leader to join our team on a FTC basis (internal applicants would be considered on a secondment basis).

Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

To assist in the supervision and management of the food & beverage service across the Warwick Conferences portfolio, ensuring that all standards are maintained to a high level, so customers get the best possible experience.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational duties:

• To work with the entire Food & Beverage team to ensure that all aspects of the service are consistently high at all times.

• To take charge of the restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner service in conjunction with, or in the absence of, the Assistant Food & Beverage Managers and Assistant Managers in accordance with standards and policies agreed.

• To ensure that a high level of customer care is maintained at all times.

• When on duty, ensure summary sheets are completed for restaurant occupancy so accurate charges can be applied; ensure all extra charges are recorded and authorised by the Event leader.

• Ensure all cash and credit card transactions are recorded and that any additional charges are recorded and authorised by the customer.

• Responsibility for maintaining cleanliness/ hygiene for all restaurant and lounge areas, ensuring that regulations regarding health and safety, fire and food hygiene are observed and adhered to.

• Make sure that all Key Control procedures are adhered to.

• Attend meetings and courses as a when required.

• Ensure any maintenance is reported at an appropriate level.

• Liaising with all operational teams whilst on duty.

Supervisory

• In accordance with standards and policies agreed, take charge of the restaurant and lounges in conjunction with, and in the absence of, the Assistant Food & Beverage Managers and Assistant Managers.

• Lead by example to ensure that the team is constantly providing a high level of customer service and openly encourage upselling.

• Through the use of Kinetics ensure that the knowledge of the daily business, the customers and their requirements whilst in house is understood and communicated with the team.

• To organise the team through the allocation of tasks to ensure all areas of service are covered during each shift.

• To assist with local area induction and training for new staff, plus the ongoing coaching and training of staff to ensure standards are maintained and relevant training up to date.

• To identify and resolve with any concerns and issues regarding staff performance through coaching or retraining with the support of the the Assistant Food & Beverage Managers and Assistant Managers.

• Plan periodic deep cleaning programme for area of work.

• To assist with the compilation of casual weekly wage sheet and clock cards for casual and agency staff.

• Ensure staffing levels are adjusted on a daily basis based in accordance with business needs.

• Make sure the team is providing constant levels of high customer service.

To undertake any other duties as from time to time maybe required commensurate with the grade of the of the post.

Essential Criteria 1

GCSE English and Maths, or equivalent (a)

Experience and knowledge of bar and restaurant work in a similar environment, to include banqueting, events & fine dining (a,c)

Good, strong communication skills both oral and written (a,c)
