  • Position Summary
  • One temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position available in Financial Aid.

  • Start Date

  • Position available on or after September 1, 2023 and ending on or before May 31, 2024. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

  • Job Description/Duties

  • Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Assist in enhancing financial knowledge through training and individual research/study.
  • Assist and participate in Financial Literacy workshops.
  • Assist in event planning and interdepartmental coordination for workshops and campus-wide events (and subsequent assessment).
  • Assist in teaching financial literacy curriculum to students and groups around campus per request via presentations and workshops.
  • Assist in managing tabling events during orientations and campus-wide events.
  • Assist in contributing creative ideas and edit office social media pages, newsletter, and blogs.
  • Assist in distributing and continually update marketing resources around campus.
  • Assist in professionally interact with students and faculty on a daily basis.
  • Assist students with Loan Servicer information and other helpful agencies/programs.
  • Assist in identifying areas of growth or improvement for the Financial literacy and Debt Management Program.
  • Assist in aiding in focus groups, data gathering and research.
  • Assist in providing an assessment of the program.
  • Assist in administrative responsibilities, including but not limited to: responding to calls and emails, scheduling appointments, and updating contact sheets and reports.
  • Assist in general clerical duties: data entry, filing, sending emails, and making phone calls.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrates professional, dependable, and strong communication (oral and written), organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Demonstrates prior experience in working with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Demonstrates the ability to utilize office equipment (copy machine, fax, scanner, etc.).
  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain confidentiality, promptness, attendance, and office etiquette.
  • It is preferred, but not required, that the incumbent has prior experience with working in a student affairs office setting.
  • Required Qualifications:

     Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
     Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
     Salary Range
     $16.00 per hour
