Position Summary

The Financial Aid Analyst is responsible for dissemination of information to current and prospective students, calculating and processing student financial aid and participating in campus outreach activities. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

- Determine eligibility for federal financial aid programs - Review reports to monitor compliance with federal, state and institutional financial aid policies - Meet with students and parents to provide guidance on application processes, eligibility, deadlines, etc. - Conducts outreach activities on and off campus - Some overtime may be required to meet the demands of the office - Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Excellent oral and written communication skills - Ability to organize and prioritize daily workload - Ability to work independently with accuracy - Ability to supplement training with self study - High Level of experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Required Education and/or Experience

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree with a major in general business or related field; plus one year of experience in student financial aid or related area. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
