This is an interesting role for an enthusiastic, motivated Finance Manager to provide high level financial management to aid the implementation and management of departmental finances in order to ensure financial and business objectives comply with financial regulations.
You will play a key role in the financial administration of the department, planning and allocating the monthly work cycle of the Finance team to ensure that all financial transaction processing on the University's Oracle finance system (including accounts receivable, accounts payable, grants, fixed assets and general ledger) is carried out efficiently in line with both the department's internal rules and the University financial procedures. The role has responsibility to ensure that financial records are meticulously maintained and to produce regular reporting for CISL's management team to monitor the department's progress against its financial targets and to highlight opportunities and potential decision points. The role has line management responsibility for 4 staff.
Key skills and experience: - Educated to Degree level/level 6 vocational qualification or equivalent level of practical experience. - AAT qualified (Level 4) or equivalent. - Substantial experience in a finance management role in a similar environment. - Expertise in financial and accounting practice. - Experience of developing/reviewing administrative processes and systems. - Experience of managing and developing a high-performing and engaged Finance team. - Competence in the use of Oracle Financials or similar accounting programme. - Good organisational and communication skills. - Excellent IT skills, experienced user of Microsoft Office. - Demonstrate knowledge of finance/accounting involving an understanding of relevant theory and/or principles.
