The salary range for this position is $84,800 to $88,800 at CAT II Lecturer
level. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based
upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity,
education, experience, specialty and training.
The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable
estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. MSU

The Department of Finance at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU
Denver) is conducting a search for a full-time, non-tenure track position to
begin August 2021 – May 2022. MSU Denver is a comprehensive, urban institution
that provides students from all walks of life and circumstances an opportunity
for an education leading to a degree and productive life. Founded in 1965, the
University's current enrollment is nearly 23,000 students.

technological society. To fulfill its mission, MSU Denver engages and mirrors
the community at large in scholarly inquiry, creative activity, and the
application of knowledge. The College of Business houses six academic
departments: Finance, Accounting, Computer Information Systems and Business
Analytics, Economics, Management, and Marketing.
The Department of Finance serves almost 400 majors who can choose specialized
study in either general finance, financial services, or banking. The financial
services curriculum is registered with CFP Board of Standards, and graduates
may qualify (depending on their coursework) to sit for the national
certification exam upon graduation.
This position is a one year, full-time non-tenure track position. The
successful candidate will be expected to teach upper division undergraduate
finance courses while engaging in meaningful professional development
activities as evidenced by production of intellectual contributions to be
shared with the wider academic and professional communities, as well as
engaging in service activities that benefit the Department, College, and/or
University. In particular, the successful candidate will be expected to
demonstrate a background and experience in the real estate industry, possess
experience in teaching real estate related courses, and/or hold certifications
and designations appropriate for a real estate professional.
The University is particularly interested in applicants who have experience
working with students from diverse backgrounds and have demonstrated a
commitment to improving access to higher education for under-represented
Teaching: The successful candidate will normally be expected to teach four
sections of upper-division, undergraduate finance courses for each of the Fall
& Spring semesters, which will normally involve 2-3 unique class preps.
Consistently high levels of teaching performance, as evidenced by student
ratings of instruction will be a key consideration in reappointment. The
successful candidate for this position will be expected to teach courses in
the real estate field and also have the ability to teach courses in other
disciplines within the College of Business.
Professional Development: The successful candidate will be expected to engage
in activities that enhance the faculty member's knowledge base and skill set,
are shared with the wider academic community, and result in the cultivation of
new concepts and material that can then be delivered in the classroom. Such
intellectual contributions are expected in this position and will be a key
condition of reappointment.
The ability to meet the criteria described in the College of Business Faculty
Qualification policy at the time of hire for either IP/SP status. These

• An earned doctorate (or documented ABD status) in the field of Finance
• Experience in the real estate industry, with a minimum of five years
• Appropriate real estate industry certifications
• The ability to document a minimum of three years of appropriately high-level
teaching experience at the University level
• A documented track record of developing intellectual and scholarly
contributions that have been shared with the wider academic community, or the
demonstrated ability to develop such contributions based on previous work
• Experience teaching in an online environment, especially using the Canvas
