  • About the Role As the Financial Controller you will be leading key areas within the finance function and providing overall oversight and accountability for the production of accurate financial results, and management of the underlying financial processes, controls and operations. This is a pivotal position which will support the Chief Financial Officer and key university stakeholders by leading key finance initiatives and role modelling the University's finance values in order to meet the strategic goals of the finance team.

    This position is a pivotal role within the finance team and will suit a motivated, driven and forward-thinking finance professional who has the ability and knowledge to interpret information and apply provide guidance to meet its strategic goals and regulatory requirements.

    About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of local statutory reporting requirements
  • 10 to 15 years' experience of working as a senior leader in a Financial Control team in a large and complex organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to use evidence and innovative thinking to solve significant organisational challenges
  • Experience of driving change, delivering operational excellence and embedding process and control improvements into finance and business operations
  • Demonstrated ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders, including at senior levels regarding significant and/or complex issues
  • Qualifications

  • Extensive relevant industry experience
  • Extensive experience of AASB and local accounting standards
  • Membership of Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountants Australia (CPA)
