Finance and HR Administrator (Fixed Term)

The Mott Hub is looking for Finance and HR Administrator to join their friendly team. The Mott Hub is one of three administrative hubs that look after the administration needs of all the research groups, at the Department of Physics.

One you join us, you will: a) manage procurement and invoicing processes for the Hub b) carry out financial management and reporting activities on both general ledger accounts and research grants c) provide financial advice to budget holders d) liaise with the Departmental Finance team and assist with month-end, half year-end and year-end processes e) manage all expense claims to ensure they are processed in a timely manner f)ensure all travel bookings are made promptly g) manage visitor and access request h) assist with other HR duties and cover for the HR and Events Administrator and other staff in the Hub when required.

In order to fulfil the duties of this post, we are looking for applicants who possess the following qualifications, skills and experience: a) educated to GCSE level, or equivalent qualification, in Maths and English b) experience in an accounts and/or HR based role, with use of accountancy software packages and relevant reporting tools c) advanced Excel skills in data manipulation and the presentation of financial information, with good numerical problem- solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy d) ability to work to tight deadlines e) ability to demonstrate factual and theoretical knowledge of finance and HR administration.

The role holder will also need to be a good communicator and be able to work as part of a team.

The post holder will be located at the Department of Physics Cavendish Laboratory JJ Thomson Avenue Cambridge CB3 0HE, UK.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
