The Faculty of Science are looking for a motivated individual to join our Finance Team.

This varied and interesting post will involve close liaison with the staff within our academic Departments, Faculty-based teams, central professional services and external organisations.

The key tasks will include

  • providing financial support
  • advice and guidance to grant holders in the Faculty
  • monitoring research grants and contracts and ensuring that Principal Investigators have access to summary
  • accurate financial information.
  • About you:

    Qualified to AAT Level 4 or with an equivalent relevant professional experience, you will have worked in a busy accounting/financial environment where excellent communication skills are essential. You will be comfortable using Microsoft Office applications and will be willing to acquire further IT skills. You will also have experience of and enjoy working as part of a team in a confidential setting.

    A good track record in financial administration is essential. Skills in the use of financial management software will be an added advantage. An interest in our work and a willingness to become fully involved in the life of the Faculty is equally important.

    This is a permanent, part-time position of 18.25 hours (0.5 fte) per week. There is flexibility in the working pattern and will be a mix of remote and on campus working.
