final classifications in the degree certificates presented by the candidate:
i) 1st cycle + Master's/Integrated Master's; ii) only 1st cycle; or iii)
Even if qualification certificates are not required for admission, documentary
evidence of the classifications obtained in the academic degrees is mandatory
for assessing criterion A.
Tabel 1 – reference table for scoring criterion A
1st cycle + Master's
(pre or post Bologna)
Integrated Master's (300-360 ECST)
1st cycle (180 ECTS)
(pre or post-Bologna)
Master's (90-120 ECTS)
(pre or post-Bologna)
If no valid certificates are submitted, the score for criterion A will be zero
(A = 0). Candidates presenting foreign diplomas without proof of conversion
of the final classification to the Portuguese scale will be evaluated with the
minimum classification (10) in sub-criterion A for the degree in question.
The final classification of “1st cycle + master's” in a pre- or post-Bologna
course results from the simple arithmetic average of the final grade obtained
in the 1st cycle 180 ECTS and the final grade obtained in the Master's
90-120 ECTS, by applying the following formula:
Final classification (1st cycle + Master's) = classification 1st
In the case of certificates that only specify a qualitative classification
(for example, pre-Bologna master's degrees), the latter will be converted
according to Table 2 for the purpose of calculating the final classification
(1st cycle + Master's degree) by the application of Table 1.
Table 2 will not be used to convert qualitative classifications for degrees
obtained abroad that do not present proof of equivalence in the Portuguese
