    Faculty Positions in Finance

    The UCI Paul Merage School of Business is seeking candidates to fill one position as tenure-track Assistant Professor and one open ranked tenure- track/tenured position as Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in the Finance area to begin as early as July 1, 2022.

    QUALIFICATIONS: We are seeking individuals with a commitment to excellence in teaching and research (academic, professional, and/or pedagogic) in Finance and in service to the University and profession. A Ph.D. in Finance or other relevant discipline is required (Ph.D. must be completed by Summer 2022). Salary will be commensurate with prior performance and experience. We especially encourage applications from those who can contribute to our strategy of leadership in the digital age and to inclusive excellence. While we invite applications in all finance areas, we are particularly interested in candidates with specialization in big data and fintech. The UCI Paul Merage School of Business is especially interested in attracting applications from individuals who embody two core strategic interests. First, the goal of the Merage School is to be a world-class institution in the development of leaders who employ their understanding of business, entrepreneurship and technology to enhance the economic and social well-being of their communities. This goal is summarized in our tagline “Leadership for a Digitally Driven World”. Second, the Merage School is guided by UCI's focus on inclusive excellence which emphasizes the removal of economic and social barriers to receiving a world-class education. Thus, our aim at the Merage School is to transform the business landscape by enhancing the representation of all communities in business and entrepreneurial activities. We are looking for candidates who share an interest in these two domains and are driven to conduct research, teaching and external engagement to ensure their execution. New hires will join a dynamic business school located in the heart of Orange County's thriving business community. The Merage School faculty has been globally recognized for their research contributions and teaching innovations. The Financial Times ranks the Merage School #1 in number of female faculty and we reached gender parity in our master's program in 2020. Merage School faculty are actively involved in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts, supporting the new Black Management Association and the School's Latinx Initiative. The School also houses seven faculty-led Centers of Excellence which serve as a bridge between the Merage School and the local business community: the Beall Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the Center for Digital Transformation, the Center for Global Leadership, the Center for Health Care Management and Policy, the Center for Investment and Wealth Management, the Center for Real Estate, and the UCI Long US-China Institute.     You will be expected to teach across all programs (undergraduate, graduate (Masters and doctoral)), some of which may occur at night and/or on weekends, including summers. You may be expected to develop on-line or hybrid courses consistent with the School's objectives and teaching needs.
