Teach child development and early childhood courses in the Education division

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child and Family Studies, or Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in early childhood education or a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in early childhood education Three years of experience teaching children birth through age 8 Knowledge of current technology tools and resources Excellent written and verbal skills Knowledge of instructional disciplines under supervision Knowledge and understanding of curriculum development

Preferred Qualifications

Five years of experience teaching children birth through age 8 Knowledge and understanding of program and course assessment Familiar with student and academic support services College teaching experience with online delivery systems Experience with coaching and staff development

Essential Functions

Current knowledge of child growth and development, early childhood curriculum and practices, and daycare licensing standards Participate in the selection and evaluation of faculty Experience with organizing/monitoring field lab experiences Recruit, advise and support students Assist in the development of course schedules Ensure compliance with requirements of state agencies and accrediting bodies, as applicable Perform all functions of a full-time faculty member Oversee labs, if applicable Serve on College and divisional committees as assigned Assist with the EDUC/CDEC Student Organization Teach 15 semester credit hours (5 courses) per long semester as assigned Fulfill all faculty roles and responsibilities as outlined in Midland College Policies and Administrative Regulations as published in the Employee and Faculty Handbooks Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

Frequently moves equipment or paperwork weighing up to 20 pounds Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time Use of manual dexterity Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation The person in this position frequently communicates with students; must be able to exchange accurate information The person in this position needs to occasionally move from office to classroom Office and classroom setting

Security Sensitivity

All Midland College positions are security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. An employment offer is contingent on completion of a satisfactory criminal background investigation.

Min Salary $55,424 per year Max Salary $67,743 per year Pay Statement Salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
