We are seeking to appoint a Facilities and Laboratory Technician to join the Pandemic Sciences Institute at the Nuffield Department of Medicine, University of Oxford.
In this role you will be involved in assisting the scientific research staff by providing laboratory and Facilities Management support. You will be responsible for maintaining adequate stock of items, together with the assistance of minor maintenance repairs and office moves within the level of competency and skills. You will also be responsible for taking appropriate action to ensure that service or repair work is booked and completed on time with minimal interference to operations.
It is essential that you are educated to GCSE level 9 (including English and Maths grade 4/ C or above) or equivalent, and you will possess basic computer skills, MS Office Word and Excel and email. You will be able to with minimal supervision, and be flexible to adapt to changes in instructions or procedures. You will be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with other staff and suppliers, and be able to work safely within a hazardous environment. You will be methodical and organised in work, especially when dealing with requests for supply of goods from stores.
