We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to join our dedicated, professional and friendly Facilities team based at the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics within the Nuffield Department of Medicine.
The Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics is a large and diverse research environment, comprising of several clinical research laboratories and facilities as well as various office spaces.
The research groups host a wide range of specialist equipment and research facilities including a suite for cryoElectron Microscopy, a high-performance computing facility, and a Functional Genetics Facility (FGF). The FGF and cryoEM facilities include biological containment laboratories (containment level 3).
As a part of NDM's Professional Services, you will play a significant role in the delivery of a high-level service, sustaining a world-class research facility across one of the largest buildings in NDM. Acting as a key co- ordinator for activity with the busy Building and Facilities Team, you will co-ordinate and manage the Centre for Human Genetics Reception and the building's facilities helpdesk.
As a front-line point of contact for administration support in the team, you will support the management of the technical and scientific support services, including oversight of maintenance contracts, liaison with contractors (internal to the University and external), production of appropriate operational reporting and data management and act as a key liaison with other members of Professional Services across the Department.
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrable and significant experience of administration management, ideally within facilities management. You will come armed with excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence people at all levels. Excellent time management and prioritisation skills will be critical to this role, as will good IT skills with up-to-date experience of MS Office and Teams. You will have experience of working with a diverse range of staff, including contractors, and the ability to deal with multiple, competing demands in a calm and effective manner.
