The Opportunity
The Post Ischemic Stroke Cardiovascular Exercise Study – Zoom Delivered Intervention Against Cognitive Decline (PISCES-ZODIAC) directed by Professor Amy Brodtmann, investigates the brain benefits of home-based exercise training after stroke and follows participants for a 1-year period post-stroke.
We are looking for a passionate, dynamic and skilled Grade 1 Research Exercise Physiologist for the PISCES-ZODIAC Study. The Grade 1 Research Exercise Physiologist provides a variety of research services to support the operations of the PISCES-ZODIAC study and reports directly to the Lead Exercise Physiologist. You will provide a high standard of participant fitness assessment, telehealth exercise delivery and coordination of services to participants, to facilitate safe, effective and person-centred research practices. You will implement safe laboratory practices in the handling of biospecimens (training provided) and provide a high standard of data collection and storage. The Exercise Physiologist operates with a focus on detail, good clinical practice and support to researchers, and participants. Ability to work autonomously and as part of the team are integral to this role.
The position is primarily located at The Alfred Centre, however, travel to other study sites (Sunshine Hospital, Melbourne Brain Centre Heidelberg) may be required.
