The Opportunity
The School of Biomedical Sciences is now seeking applications for a casual Educational Outreach Officer who will be responsible for performing a range of educational outreach related activities to support the effective operation of the BioEYES program and Biomedical Outreach Education Team. This includes provision of a range of services relating to educational programs, training of students and staff, administrative support and equipment maintenance.
The Educational Outreach Officer will work closely with the Engagement and Outreach Coordinator to deliver the BioEYES content to primary and secondary students at a range of public and independent schools around Melbourne/Victoria.
This position will primarily provide a range of teaching and administrative tasks and services to effectively support the BioEYES Australia program including undertaking established processes, responding to queries, maintaining supplies, word processing, providing administrative support to relevant program staff and other stakeholders and supporting the Engagement and Outreach Coordinator in the production of reports, grant applications and research and conference papers.
Ideally, we are seeking someone with completion of a tertiary qualification in biological/biomedical science and/or a teaching qualification with relevant experience.
This position also requires regular transport of equipment to and from schools, some of which are not easily accessible via public transport. Additionally, due to the schedule of the BioEYES program, the position requires availability on Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
