About the research centre or Inria department

The Inria Rennes - Bretagne Atlantique Centre is one of Inria's eight centres and has more than thirty research teams. The Inria Center is a major and recognized player in the field of digital sciences. It is at the heart of a rich R&D and innovation ecosystem: highly innovative PMEs, large industrial groups, competitiveness clusters, research and higher education players, laboratories of excellence, technological research institute, etc.

Vix is the artificial intelligence and computer vision solution for the industry, without the hassle of data and deployment.

In industrial environments, there is no easy, automatic and efficient way of verifying the quality of manufactured products in a production line. On the other side, companies are constantly looking to reduce faults, automatise and optimise resources.

In collaboration with Inria Start-up Studio we develop the concept of Cognitive Sensors. A Cognitive Sensor is a software that combines the simplicity of integration of a sensor with the cognitive capabilites to undersant images and videos. Thanks to our technology of anomaly detection, the system is able to learn what is a normal product, without the need to indicate all the possible problems and faults.

The mission of Vix is to simplify the industrialization and productization of AI and for that sake we actively work on the best software architectures adapted to the industry and integration.

Besides Inria, we are also supported by Le Poool Rennes and the incubator 1Kubator who partners with us and partially finances our project.

The candidate will work in the design, conception, development, tests and deployment of Cognitive Sensors as an AI platform in partnership with a R&D team in the context of industrial applications.
