The CQUniversity Office of Indigenous Engagement (OIE) plays the pivotal role at CQUniversity in providing leadership to improve higher education outcomes for Indigenous Australians. The OIE drives informed policy development to influence the way in which the University provides higher education, training, research opportunities and engagement that expresses a deliberate destiny for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
You will work closely with the Deputy Vice-President (Indigenous Engagement) to provide extensive senior executive and strategic support, including collaborating on projects. You will work closely with other areas of the University and participate in negotiation and decision-making activities. You will be responsible for providing expert senior executive support to the Deputy Vice-President (Indigenous Engagement), including undertaking research and statistical analysis to assist in developing and implementing strategies, proposals, and complex reports.

As the Executive Officer you will possess:
» In-depth knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, values and societies, and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively within this environment. » Skills and experience in an executive officer capacity to a senior member of a large organisation and an ability to work effectively and professionally in an executive support team. » An ability to identify, undertake research and analyse diverse critical and developing issues at the strategic level and develop strategies, recommendations, and alternatives in respect to the issues including expertise in interpreting and advising on policy matters. » Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and an ability to consult, liaise and negotiate professionally at all levels and represent a Senior Executive across a diverse range of stakeholder dealings in various capacities.
» Excellent written communication skills including the ability to research and write complex plans, proposals, business cases, reports, submissions, speeches, briefing papers, policies, and procedures. » An ability to achieve goals and objectives within specified timeframes, manage projects and exercise judgment, initiative, planning, tact, discretion, confidentiality and apply a flexible work ethic.Position Description
