This position provides advanced financial and operational support to the Innovation and Online (I/O) enterprise. Reporting to the Executive Director of Business Operations, the individual will perform routine cost center/account reconciliations, purchase requisitions, journal entries, payable accounting tasks, and departmental deposits. The individual will assist in the preparation of annual and quarterly financial reports.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Four years of qualifying experience or a combination of education and experience that equates to four years. Experience with Microsoft Word. Customer service experience. Spreadsheet and/or database experience. Organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to project a positive attitude. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with accurate results. Ability to compose, proofread and edit correspondence. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor degree in a related field. Experience within a higher education administrative environment. Advanced skillset in the use of Microsoft Office suite including Excel and TEAMS. Demonstrated skillset in the use of various enterprise resource platforms such as SAP and other business applications/databases unique to an organization. Willingness to adapt to change in an evolving, fast-paced environment. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Demonstrated ability to participate in a cross-collaborative environment. Exhibits high degree of interpersonal skills and self-motivation.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provides primary administrative support for CMU Innovation & Online business/financial operations. Monitors CMU business credit card/travel expense transactions in ActivePay and assigns appropriate cost center information. Initiates daily and routine financial transactions related to purchasing, payables, and receivables. Prepares fund transfers using SAP and other applications such as STRIPE. Prepares employee business card and reimbursement reconciliations. Conducts monthly cost center reconciliations of CMU Innovation and Online enterprise. Assists in the review of budgets to actual for accounts and provides trend reporting to CMU Innovation and Online Leadership as directed. Maintains compliance with established University policies and procedures. Networks across campus and will interact with team members located at CMU main campus and distant locations. Performs data collection using SAP and DataWarehouse for purposes of building trend and financial reports. Serves as backup to the Building Coordinator at CMU North Campus facility. Completes other duties as assigned.
