Sitting within ODAR, the Engagement & Advancement Events team is responsible for an annual programme of events – delivered online and in person - designed to develop and strengthen relationships with university alumni and supporters. In addition, we are responsible for delivering several high-profile wider University events – from the annual Vice-Chancellor Awards ceremony to the Staff Party.

The role

Reporting to the Head of Events, the successful postholder will manage their own varied portfolio of events including activity that will develop and grow key relationships with our civic and corporate audiences, events to enhance our staff and student communities as well as events linked to our university fundraising opportunities providing a platform to cultivate and thank our amazing donors and supporters.

The ideal candidate will have;

  • Broad range of event experience organising large complex events, both in person and online with a good understanding of event technology.
  • Excellent communications skills, be highly motivated, able to organise and prioritise work, be confident working alongside senior stakeholders, and be able to use your own initiative to complete tasks and projects to strict deadlines.
  • Proven understanding of how strategic events can enhance fundraising and engagement activities - able to develop creative event ideas and proposals that are both audience-centric and objective-led.
  • Ideally line management experience.
  • This role is based at our lively Highfield campus, although most of the team work on a hybrid basis so your time can be split between working remotely from home and catching up with colleagues on campus.
