  • Job Summary

    Serve as Events and Publicity Coordinator for the School of Visual and Performing Arts.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee scheduling of events for all VAPA venues (Brown Theater, ELB Recital Hall, Spyker Theatre, Black Box Theatre) using Google Calendar or other software. Post events on the official ULM Calendar. (10%)
  • Assist in the scheduling of any front of house staff, which may include students, Faculty/Staff or volunteers, as well as Box Office Staff. (15%)
  • Promote VAPA events by developing, organizing, and distributing publicity, to include press releases, media coverage, social media, and/or email. Collaborate with the ULM Office of Marketing and Communications. (20%)
  • Assist with the creation of print and/or digital marketing and publicity materials for VAPA recruiting purposes. (10%)
  • Maintain an email database of alumni and other stakeholders for distribution of publicity and marketing materials. (5%)
  • Manage all facets of ticketing distribution and marketing, including organizing, promoting, tracking, and maintaining records (according to internal audit standards) of ticket sales. (20%)
  • Assist with the preparation of contracts to assure necessary and sufficient arrangements for each performer/performance before submitting to upper ULM administration for final approval and signature. (5%)
  • Assure compliance with local fire code, ADA, and ULM safety regulations for all performances/ exhibits in VAPA venues by overseeing facilities, specifically the security and functioning of all entrances and exits, handicap access, general and emergency lighting, and heating/air conditioning as well as the security and monitoring of audiences. (15%)
  • Minimum Qualifications

    Knowledge of event planning

    Ability to handle multiple duties concurrently

    Excellent oral and written communication skills

    Experience with the creation and editing of digital marketing materials
