Department Event Services Work Schedule Position Summary
Get paid to be a mythical creature and channel your inner lion and eagle as Griff the Griffin. Westminster is hiring for a mascot to represent the college and build school spirit at non-athletic campus and community events. The mascot marketing team does not appear at athletic events and is not required to perform acrobatics. Griff will utilize a curated gender-fluid wardrobe to provide entertainment, greet visitors, provide photo opportunities, and distribute promotional materials at college events. This position is part of the marketing team in Westminster's Office of Marketing and Communication and will offer you the opportunity to learn about marketing and character development, and increase your engagement with campus life. Hours are varied depending on volume. Not to exceed 10 hours a week.

Primary ResponsibilitiesResponsibility Welcoming guests and clients
Wear the Griff costume (eagle head and wings, minimal lion body suit, and assorted wardrobes)
Appear at various events for current students, prospective students, donors, and the community (this position will not appear at athletic games)Responsibility Character Development
Help in developing a persona for Griff; preserving the identity without deviating from developed character including body language/mannerisms, attitude, and interactions
Select Griff's wardrobe for each event and help curate a gender fluid wardrobe (attire options include formal, casual, preppy, etc.)

Promote an Inclusive Westminster through demonstration of the commitments include in the Westminster College Diversity Statement. Additional Requirements Extended hours, including evenings and weekends will be required., Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds required.
