The junior researcher will be responsible for designing and managing trials under controlled and field conditions, analyzing plant response to treatments (flower bud differentiation, plant growth, fruit production) and fruit quality using both non-invasive (e.g. vis-NIR) and destructive methodologies. The effect of nanoemulsions (NE) will also be evaluated in terms of physiology and induction of plant defense, combined with real-time monitoring of infection by the bacterium using a GFP-labeled strain and fluorescence microscopy. Their possible interference with signaling mechanisms or leaf bacteriome structure and function will also be investigated. Finally, the effect of NEs on the sensory and nutraceutical qualities of the fruit will be evaluated through analysis of antioxidant content and quantification of carotenoids by HPLC.

Eligibility criteria

For admission to the selection process referred to in Art. 1, potential candidates must fulfil the following requirements: a)PhD or Master's degree Laurea Magistrale awarded pursuant to Art. 3(1n), Ministerial Decree no. 270 of 22/10/04 or previous Master's degree Laurea Specialistica awarded pursuant to Art. 3(1b), Ministerial Decree no. 509 of 03/11/99 or previous Bachelor's degree awarded pursuant to the teaching systems prior to Ministerial Decree no. 509 of 03/11/99, at the conclusion of a study programme at least 4 years in length, and a suitable academic and professional background for conducting research; b)Knowledge of the following foreign language: English; c)Other requirements: documented research and/or development experience in the disciplinary sectors: AGR/12 PLANT PATHOLOGY and AGR/03 ARBORICULTURE AND FRUITCULTURE.
