Evaluation and Impact Officer (maternity cover)

Social Mobility and Student Success, External Relations

The Evaluation and Impact team, based in the Department of Social Mobility and Student Success, is looking for an ambitious self-starter to join our team as Evaluation and Impact Officer, for a fixed term to provide maternity cover. We are open to part-time or full-time work options and will consider secondment opportunities.

Working alongside a friendly and supportive team, the role involves supporting individuals and teams delivering widening participation initiatives across the University to evidence the impact of their work. This will involve contributing to the development of resources to support the delivery of evaluation, supporting the development of new processes and systems for collating and managing data, and to support the delivery of training and other kinds of more personalised support (including consultations and workshops).

Drawing on your skills and experiences, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of an evaluation framework that will help structure and direct evaluative activity in widening participation across the student lifecycle and support the delivery of evaluation projects with pan-institutional and sectoral remit, engaging with professional service and academic colleagues (both internal and external) in the process.

Evaluation has grown in prominence in the HE sector, and the associated skills and knowledge are highly sought after. This role provides an opportunity for those interested in this kind of work to gain valuable experience, which can be used in a wide range of career contexts and provides exposure to potential new avenues for career development.

If you are interested, we strongly recommend you get in touch for an informal discussion.
