We are looking for two Assistant Housekeeping Managers, on a full-time and permanent basis, to support the Housekeeping Managers in providing a high- quality housekeeping service to students, conference guests and staff of the University.
You must be able to deal with the diversity that the role offers and have strong motivational skills. The administrative function will include health and safety record keeping, maintaining up to date COSHH and other safety reports, undertaking workplace risk assessments, monitoring staff attendance, identifying training needs with regular reporting on these activities.
As Assistant Housekeeping Manager you will:
Support the Housekeeping Managers to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environment legislation throughout your designated area
Induct and train new starters within the housekeeping teams and motivate and build a rapport with the team
Organise and plan to ensure we have sufficient staffing and resources to meet the business needs. Ensure orders and finances are managed cost effectively, accurately, and efficiently to comply with purchasing and university finance regulations.
To be successful in this role you will have/be:
Educated to GCSE English and Maths or equivalent with verifiable basic computer skills to include ability to use MS word, Email, PowerPoint, Excel and MS Teams
Managerial/Supervisory experience on a large commercial customer focused environment
Experience of leading and motivating teams and willing to learn new and improve existing skills, undertaking training as required
Excellent interpersonal skills
Effective time management of self and others.
