We are looking to recruit a number of bank staff for the University of Kent's Campus Security Team. Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial, however, it is not essential as full training will be provided. We are keen to hear from you if you are enthusiastic and motivated to be part of a committed security team in providing excellent customer service to a diverse group of people.
As a member of the Campus Security temp bank, you will be working on an ad hoc basis to ensure the University has safe security staffing levels to be able to respond efficiently to emergencies. This may be to cover sickness, annual leave or other staff absences, as well as at busier times of year and to cover certain events.
You will have the ability to assess situations quickly and effectively. You will also be a good all-round communicator, with the ability to pass on verbal information clearly and write up accurate reports of incidents.
The University has an estimated 20,000+ students and staff, as well as visitors that we have a duty to protect and secure. The Security Team maintain a safe environment by preventing crime, responding promptly to emergencies and difficult situations in line with security procedures. The Department
This role is offered by the Commercial Services and Estates Department. The Estates Department provides a number of essential services to the University of Kent and is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the extensive grounds and buildings; the security of students, staff and visitors; transport and travel; a postal service and the University Design & Print Centre. It is also responsible for the buildings, new development and construction projects both at Canterbury and at our Medway campus at Chatham Maritime and on the Chatham Historic Dock Yard.
