We are looking to appoint an Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Business Partner, who can provide effective thought leadership and partnering across the University to ensure delivery against BNU's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy. The EDI BP drives strategic, cultural and measurable change to address unequal disparities across the university community to create a place where everyone can thrive. Working closely with key interested parties such as the Vice Chancellor, Heads of School, Directors, staff networks, committees, Student's Union and community organisations to sustain progress and develop sector leading practice, the EDIBP will horizon scan, sensitively provide expert advice, seek out opportunity and mitigate risk to make sure ‘Being you at BNU' is a reality for everyone in our community.

    Job Purpose:

    Provide effective thought leadership and partnering across the University to ensure delivery against BNU's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy. The EDI BP drives strategic, cultural and measurable change to address unequal disparities across the university community to create a place where everyone can thrive.     Main Duties & Responsibilities of the role:

  • Provide specialist advice to support people and drive their understanding of their responsibilities in relation to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Horizon scan and scrutinise data to mitigate risk and seek opportunity. Create reports and presentations for senior leaders and committees that help key parties understand complex issues and accordingly influence progressive best practice.
  • Support the delivery of the Equality Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, Pay Gap reports and Annual EDI report, and update and create policy and web pages as needed.
  • Coordinate events and deliver sessions to better equip the community e.g. Inclusive Recruitment, Fairness, Respect and Inclusion workshop, Awareness day/week/month events.
  • Network internally and externally to effectively engage and co-produce changes and interventions that advance equality and an inclusive culture.
  • Comply and advise on relevant legislative and other requirements (e.g., Health and Safety, Equality Act, Public Sector Equality Duties) in all working practices
