Essential Job Functions

  • Maintains Providence Campus compliance with environmental regulations including hazardous waste, regulated medical waste, air and oil pollution control, storm water regulations and chemical inventory regulations
  • Maintains Providence Campus compliance with OSHA requirements including hazard communication, blood borne pathogens, personal protective equipment, laboratory safety, fall protection, ergonomics, electrical safety, control of hazardous energy, asbestos, hearing conservation, respiratory protection and fork lift operation
  • Investigates and responds to employee work environment complaints and conducts research to develop solutions to employee issues and concerns
  • Manages response actions related to environmental spills and hazardous building materials, and completes necessary actions accordingly
  • Conducts various environmental, health and safety analyses, investigations and assessments, reports findings, and makes recommendations for improvements
  • Provides guidance and direction to Charlotte campus faculty and staff on various environmental, health & safety topics
  • Assists with the departmental budget
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree
  • Moderate amount of experience working in environmental, health and safety or other related experience
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Please note: Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire.
