The mission of the Division of Student & Academic Affairs is to create solutions for a healthier community by fostering student success. There are 10 functional units within the Division of Student & Academic Affairs: Center for Student Life, Career Readiness Center, Center for Academic Performance, Office of Care and Civility, Registrar, Financial Aid, Testing and Evaluation Services, International Services, Office of Disability Access, and Student Assistance Resource Center.
Position Overview
This position is part of the Division of Student Affairs at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) and the Department of Testing and Evaluation Services. This position supports UNTHSC students and academic departments with a wide variety of student assessment (examination/testing) activities including creating and administering assessments. This position fosters student success by ensuring student knowledge is effectively measured and academic curricular goals are achieved.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: A highly organized self-starter and an independent thinker with the ability to work collaboratively with fellow employees, faculty, and staff. Attention to detail and accuracy are a must. Ability to work on multiple projects with varying deadlines in a high paced, time-sensitive, accuracy-essential environment. Possess strong computer skills and be proficient working with a wide range of software programs including Word, Excel, and database management tools. Experience with MacBooks is a plus. Ability to set and adhere to strict deadlines. Desired applicant will place a high priority on customer service. Experience in support roles, interacting with clients from multiple levels of an organization. Experience in an academic support environment is preferable. Experience supporting and interacting with university faculty, students, and administration is a plus. Experience administering and scoring examinations, and interpreting/explaining the results of student assessment data is a plus. Possess excellent interpersonal skills and proven written communication skills. Confidence speaking before groups of students (max. 300).
Required License / Registration / Certification Work Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm, with occasional evenings or weekends required for divisional events Occasionally required to come in before 8 am to set up on exam days

Job Duties
o
Support academic departments with the entry of assessment items, creation of assessments, posting and delivering assessments, and reporting assessment results to faculty and students.
o
Manage student assessment related databases, including computer-based item banks. Provide updated item banks and assessment data reports as needed.
o
Manage the student assessment calendar. Communicate with academic programs and students regarding overall testing schedule and makeup assessments.
o
Provide support for all assessments including proctor support when needed. Process scantron-based assessments. This will require a basic knowledge of computer operations and a willingness to learn new technology.
o
Maintain official gradebook for academic courses, including tracking of student absences and makeup procedures, applying assessment penalties as applicable based on program procedures, and processing final course reports. Communicating with academic programs for final grade approval, communicating with the Registrar's Office regarding grades to be uploaded, and notifying students of final grades.
o
Other duties as assigned.
