The position requires: (1) at least a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics or TESOL or (2) a Master's degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of Applied Linguistics, Linguistics, English, English as a Second Language, Grammar, Phonology, Reading, Second Language Acquisition, Semantics, Speech Communication or TESOL.

This is a tenured-track faculty position. Desire candidates with on-going professional development interests, love of teaching, and enthusiasm for campus and College committees and activities.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer applicants with: (1) an awarded PhD or Master's degree in Applied Linguistics, Language Acquisition, TESOL, or ESL; (2) teaching experience in higher education in an IEP or EAP, preferably at the community college level; (3) experience with LMS (e.g. Canvas) and other educational software and resources, (4) experience with curriculum development.

• Applicants with a qualifying degree from an educational institution outside the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom must attach to the application a foreign credential evaluation from one of the members of the National Association of Credential Evaluations Services (website: www. naces.org). • The faculty screening committee will analyze the strength of your application materials; you should include a complete application, resume/vita, cover letter, unofficial transcripts, and reference letters. • The faculty screening committee will select the top candidates for an interview that includes comprehensive questions and a required teaching demonstration.

Additional Documents Required

The position requires: (1) Master's degree in Applied Linguistics, Language Acquisition, TESOL, or ESL. Teaching experience in English as a Second Language at the college level is strongly recommended or (2) Master's degree in Linguistics, Foreign Languages, or English, with 18 graduate semester hours focusing on second language instruction/acquisition. Must have teaching experience in English as a Second language at the college level; • The faculty screening committee will analyze the strength of your application materials; you should include a complete application, resume/vita, cover letter, unofficial transcripts, and reference letters. Applicants must attach a copy of their graduate transcript, showing at least the minimum qualifications, at the time of application. In addition, applicants must attach a resume at the time of application. If selected for an interview, applicants must bring an original transcript to the interview showing the awarding of the required degree and required graduate semester hours. If the transcript has not been updated to show the awarding of the required degree, applicants must bring written documentation from the educational institution showing when the degree was awarded.

Campus Dale Mabry Location 10 - Dale Mabry Campus Pay Rate

A faculty member shall be assigned to the appropriate salary grade based on the College's contract with the faculty union. The present entry levels are:

(Grade II) Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the field $44,248, (Grade II+) Master's degree plus 30 graduate semester hours in the teaching field $46,514 and (Grade I) an earned Doctorate in major field $48,781.
