Position Summary Information
General Description/Position Purpose
The School of Engineering at Shippensburg University is currently seeking applications for an Engineering Technician to begin as soon as possible. The expected salary range will be commensurate with experience and includes an extensive benefits package and tuition waiver for the employee and dependents.
Expected Duties:
Mechanical and Civil Engineering Laboratories: The candidate is expected to have a general understanding and/or the ability to learn equipment typically used in a Mechanical and Civil Engineering laboratory. Such as,
Minimum Qualifications
Qualified candidates will have at least an Associate's degree in mechanical engineering or related field and demonstrated hands-on technical/mechanical work experience in machining and welding, the ability to draw/read sketches using engineering graphics software, and interpersonal skills necessary to support students and faculty to carry out projects and maintain labs and equipment. The candidate must have an understanding of implementing safety measures required by Pennsylvania Labor & Industry. The candidate will have a flexible schedule, but may have to work some evenings and weekends to meet the students' needs.
