The University of Phoenix, Inc. seeks an Engineer IV in Phoenix, AZ to develop and design software applications at a senior level.
Design, develop, code, test, and debug new and existing software applications and installed hardware. Mentor and train junior members of the team. Develop and deploy cloud services. Install IT systems using university technology standards. Administer systems, including performing maintenance and system upgrades. Ensure IT security protocols are followed. Develop enhancements to existing IT systems and improve the functionality and compatibility of existing applications using engineering releases and utilities. Customize IT systems and maintain program libraries and technical manuals. Optimize
hardware through software benchmarking. Provide direction and support to less experienced IT engineers to increase their understanding of software development practices and
procedures. Test software applications and develop automated tests. Review and analyze test results, witness tests, and certify software for production. Maintain and increase professional
and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. Create and deploy quality software as part of an Agile engineering team that has complete DevOps ownership of their work from discovery, UX and design through the code, test, release and maintenance cycles. Position may telecommute.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field plus 2 years (or Bachelor's degree and 6 progressive years) of engineering experience in: (1) working and delivering features in an Agile or scaled Agile team environment; (2) designing and deploying cloud services and software development; (3) AWS, Microservices, Istio, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Kibana, Kafka, UI/UX, React, and AB Testing; (4) developing, testing, installing, and supporting most phases of IT systems. Hiring range for this position is between $136,552 and $179,900.
Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, and skills.
