Job Description Summary:
Facilities, Buildings & Grounds (FBG) is currently seeking an experienced, licensed Electrician to help support the Universities mission in education. FBG is a part of GW's Facilities, Planning and Construction Management Division, which maintains GW's property and grounds on all three campuses. Reporting to a Zone Manager, the Electrician typically maintains, repairs and installs electrical systems and equipment within GW buildings.
The core responsibilities of this role include but not limited too:
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 1.5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:
Licensure as a journeyman electrician by the District of Columbia is necessary. Valid driver's license is required to operate GW vehicles.

Campus Location: Foggy Bottom, Washington, D.C.College/School/Department: Operations Family Safety and Facilities Sub-Family Electrical Stream Service and Support Level Level 2 Full-Time/Part-Time: Full time -> FTE 1.00 Hours Per Week: 40 Work Schedule: 7:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday. This position is subject to be on call after normal working hours, and scheduled to work rotating weekends that include Saturdays and Sundays. Will this job require the employee to work on site?
