Electrical service work, repair work, and new electrical installation work in commercial buildings on college campus/ research facility; including work in classrooms, laboratories, building infrastructure, and outdoor lighting.

Position Overview

The Facilities Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Electrician to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. Connect wires to circuit breakers,transformers, or other components. Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools and test equipment, such as oscilloscopes,ammeter,or test lamps. Inspect electrical system, equipment,or components to identify hazards,defects,or the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred Qualifications

The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: 4 years of experience in commercial/industrial electrical. Ability to follow electrical code manuals to install and repair electrical systems. Understand schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications required by our client. Experience working with hand tools, power tool and electronic test equipment. Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation. High standard of integrity and professionalism.
