This is skilled trades work installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems and equipment.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION Knowledge of the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. Skill in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. Ability to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems. Ability to use a multimeter to test wires for proper voltage and continuity, a ground fault detector to locate wire failures anda megmeter. Ability to use hand tools and power tools and equipment properly. Ability to read and clearly understand blueprints. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments. Ability to carry, erect, climb, and maneuver on ladders and/or scaffolds; work in tight and awkward spaces; work off ofroofs, cat walks, and other elevated areas. Ability to carry or otherwise move loads of 50 pounds or more (pipe, wire, tool boxes, etc.). Ability to understand and apply University rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and within extreme temperature ranges. Visual ability, corrected, to observe people and/or vehicles moving through the work area in order to redirect work orequipment to avoid injuries to the people or damage to the vehicles. Ability to communicate information effectively, in English, both verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Additional Position Information
LSU Health New Orleans Division of Facility Services is seeking motivated applicates for the position of Electrician Master.
Starting rate of pay is $18.83 per hour, may be adjusted dependent upon applicant's qualifications. There is also an additional $1 per hour Longevity Pay for hours worked only.
