  • Must possess an apprentice license or be able to obtain one within 90 days
  • Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and performing maintenance on electrical equipment and wiring systems
  • Experience performing maintenance on interior and exterior lighting fixtures
  • Experience working under hazardous conditions (e.g., with electricity, in confined spaces, and at heights)
  • Skill in effectively and efficiently using Electricians' equipment, tools, and consumables
  • Knowledge of Electrical codes, standards, and safety protocols
  • Experience and proficiency using a PC with MS software, web browsers, e-mail, and a hand-held electronic device/tablet
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education, government, or the military
  • Knowledge of electrical theory, mechanical concepts, and construction standards
  • Experience performing preventative and emergency maintenance on chemical, biological, and other exhaust fans
  • Experience using AiM & SAP
  • Job Description

    Responsible for performing entry-level electrical work including installation, maintenance, and repair of the campus electrical systems and equipment.

    Job Duties

    Inspect designated areas in assigned buildings to ensure that electrical equipment is functioning properly. Perform skilled and semi-skilled work in repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical equipment and wiring of campus electrical systems.

    Must be available to work after-hours emergency on-call duty on a rotating basis with Electric shop personnel.
