The Electrical Engineer in the Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS) Applied
Embedded Systems Division (AES) supports the design,
development, test and integration of custom or Commercial-Off-The-Shelf
(COTS) computing, signal processing, or communication circuit cards in
embedded products. Electrical Engineers develop and design solutions including
analog and digital portions for Electronic Warfare, Radar, Avionics and
Communication Systems in low Size, Weight and Power/High Reliability
In this position, you will design, develop and test electronic circuits
fabricated to support a wide range of programs. The Electrical Engineer will
utilize electrical circuit design and analysis tools to layout and model
circuit performance. This position will guide the assembly, test and
integration of electronic circuits. You will test, analyze and diagnose
malfunctions in existing hardware. In this role, you will research component
and material specifications and assembly and manufacturing methods for
Develop electronic circuits and assemblies under the supervision of senior
engineering staff to meet task requirements
Test and troubleshoot circuits for operational readiness
Generate documentation of hardware design and theory of operation
Analyze system and functional requirements to develop solutions
Analyze component selection and perform technology tradeoff analyses
within the context of overall system performance.
Conduct printed circuit board (PCB) design, layout, procurement,
fabrication and test
Develop unit tests for hardware, developed software, and support broader
test support needs as necessary
Develop and present technical presentations for internal peer reviews and
sponsor design reviews
Interface and coordinate with other team members including other
developers, testers, system engineers, etc.
Participate in technical meetings with GTRI and sponsor personnel
Develop technical papers for conferences, speak publicly, and present
briefings to potential customers
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Minimum Qualifications
Experience with printed circuit board (PCB) layout.
Experience in embedded systems design.
Experience with analog and digital circuit analysis and synthesis.
Candidates currently enrolled in an accredited degree program relevant to
this position will be considered. The candidate must have a graduation
date of no later than May, 2022.
Active Secret Clearance
Experience with Altium Designer for PCB design
Experience with lab test equipment such as logic analyzers, multimeters,
Experience with Analog-to-Digital (ADC) and Digital-to-Analog (DAC)
Experience with high reliability or military hardware
Education and Length of Experience
