Central Michigan University (CMU) seeks one or more dynamic individuals to teach computer engineering and electrical engineering courses in the School of Engineering & Technology beginning August 2022. Based on applicants' preferences, course loads could be 1-4 courses per semester. Benefits will be offered to faculty who teach half-time or greater.

Required Responsibilities:

1. Teach a variety of courses in the computer and electrical engineering programs, comprised of both lectures and labs. Courses are primarily at the undergraduate level though graduate level courses may be assigned as needed.

2. Participate in course assessment in support of program accreditation.

3. Participate in professional activities, meetings, workshops and other relevant activities including interacting with external collaborators.

Required Qualifications

1. Master's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related engineering program.

2. Demonstrated excellent technical, verbal, interpersonal and written communications skills.

3. Ability to teach courses in the computer engineering and electrical engineering programs as well as general engineering courses at the introductory level.

4. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Previous teaching experience at the university level.

2. Academic research and/or industry experience.

3. Ph.D. degree.

4. Professional Engineer Licensure.

About the Department

The School of Engineering and Technology (SET) offers three ABET-accredited engineering programs in computer engineering, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering. It offers two ABET-accredited engineering technology programs in industrial engineering technology and mechanical engineering technology, as well as undergraduate majors in environmental engineering and product design engineering technology. Additionally, SET offers an MS in engineering program. SET presently has 23 full-time faculty members. Courses are taught in an attractive 70,000 square foot engineering & technology building which houses more than twenty laboratories and support spaces. The School of Engineering and Technology at CMU is known for being student- centered and for producing graduates with excellent job placement and starting salaries.
