POSITION TITLE: Education Faculty
DEPARTMENT: Division of Education, College of Arts, Sciences and Business
POSITION STATUS: Full-time, 9-month, tenure-track
POSITION REPORTS TO: Education Division Director
JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Division Director of Education,
with consultation of the Dean of the College of Arts, Science, and Business
(CASB), the Education Faculty is responsible for the instruction of
education courses, advising, and engagement in all curricular and program
initiatives. This is a full-time 9-month tenure-track position with an
emphasis in elementary education.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
Faculty:
Adheres to all university academic and employment policies identified in
the Employee and Faculty handbooks and academic catalogs
Participates in recruitment, retention, and development efforts in
coordination with division members and/or Enrollment Services
Engages in Scholarship as defined by the Boyer Model, including, but not
limited to activities identified in the faculty handbook
Respects the moral and religious beliefs of the university and students;
uses discretion when expressing personal beliefs and views
Attends college, program, division, and university meetings as requested
Serves as an effective instructor, establishes good rapport with students,
and follows the curriculum for Education Classes.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Division Director of Education or
Dean of CASB

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Master's degree in an area of education; terminal degree preferred. If no
terminal degree, the applicant must complete a terminal degree in the
field of education prior to tenure.
Experience
Evidence of successful K-6 education employment.
Evidence of successful teaching at the post-secondary level preferred.
If teaching Special Education Courses, professional experience in special
education is required.
Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrates an understanding of educational theory, instructional methods
and evaluation technique and use of technology utilized in higher
education in a classroom setting
Demonstrates analytical and organizational skills necessary to plan,
implement and evaluate educational activities to assure compliance with
established goals and objectives
Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and
written, necessary to interact effectively with all university
constituents.
Able to work well with faculty, students, staff, administrators, and
external stake holders.
Able to coordinate services to the needs of diverse populations within the
time and financial limits of the institution.
