Position Summary:

The University of California Irvine's Center for Educational Partnerships (CFEP) creates collaborations that support preparation for and success in higher education. Our focus is on equity and access for all students to achieve the University of California's goal of academic excellence.

As a seasoned, experienced professional in K-14 academic preparation, the Early Academic Outreach Program Specialist will assist in the design, coordination and implementation of the Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP). The primary responsibilities will include working with students, parents, and district personnel to promote academic success and achievement in low performing schools in Orange and Los Angeles Counties. Develops and maintains EAOP visibility in schools. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with K-14 and higher education institutions and / or community entities.

$53,400.00 - $63,550.00 (Annual Salary) Expected Pay Range within the Full Salary Range $53,400.00 - $94,000.00 (Annual Salary)

Required:

Master of Science degree in counseling, higher education administration, student development, or another related field.

California driver's license or the ability to obtain one as required by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Strong knowledge and experience working with educational equity programs serving a diverse student population. Strong knowledge of up-to-date information on K-12 and higher education policies and issues. Ability to assess their impact on program strategies. Knowledge of K-12 and higher education institutions (UC, CSU, CC, etc.), admissions and financial aid requirements, and the ability to interpret policies and procedures to youth, parents, and school representatives. Strong knowledge of high school graduation and college entrance requirements. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with school district administrators, school counselors, principals, teachers, and community contacts. Strong communications (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated cultural competency with respect to race, ethnicity, and socio-economic status. Significant experience advising and supporting educationally disadvantaged students regarding postsecondary opportunities and careers.
