Properties, Facilities & Development (PF&D) plays an important role in ensuring Curtin's physical presence enables ongoing transformation and supports the University's vision to be a recognised global leader in research, education and engagement. The department is responsible for the planning, delivery, maintenance and operation of great places where people come first.

Reporting to the Manager, Drawing Services we have an opportunity for a motivated and skilled Document Control and CAD Technical Assistant to join our Drawing Services department on a Continuing (Permanent) Full time basis.

In this role, you will be exposed to a variety of tasks and duties including producing and modifying CAD documentation, performing document control, filing and data entry tasks, ensuring the document management system is maintained, taking part in audits, responding to customer queries in a timely and professional manner and collecting data on Curtin physical assets including taking measurements and recording locations. You will also have the opportunity to gain new skills through hands-on experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Building Information Modelling (BIM).

You will be in a small, friendly and laid-back team where you will interact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including the wider Properties, Facilities and Development team as well external contractors and consultants.

Essential Criteria:

  • Completion of a relevant certificate qualification, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Exceptional organisation skills and manage competing priorities
  • High attention to detail skills
  • Proficient computer literacy and the ability to use a range of applications including word processing, spreadsheet packages and the AutoCAD.
  • A level of fitness commensurate with the position
  • As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.
