Population Studies in Oral Health is a young and growing research group that is part of the Department of Oral Health Sciences within the Group of Biomedical Sciences KU Leuven.
You will perfom doctoral research on the status of Oral Health in the Belgian population and more specifically the challenges and opportunities of population studies in this area.
You will facilitate and optimalize the data collection and -management within a large scale study into the Oral Health of the Belgian population. You will explore opportunities and possibilities to acquire a broader insight to help (re)structure the organisation of Oral Health Care.Profile
You have distinguished yourself during your studies.
You have an investigative nature and are fascinated by the research theme.
You have experience with the development of ICT-applications, graphic user interfaces, website management... or you are interested to learn.
You have problem solving capabilities and are a precise worker.
You easily make contact, can cooperate smoothly with colleagues and are a good communicator when offering support to other project collaborators (dentists/mouth hygienists and administrative fellow workers).
You are able to work independantly and are flexibel. You can organise your work well so short deadlines pose no problem for you.
You have an excellent knowledge of the Dutch language and a good knowledge of English (both spoken and written). Knowledge of French is a plus.
You have experience with scientific literature research and have scientific writing skills.
You are familiar with statitistics. Making statistical analyses in SAS or SPSS has no secrets for you. Experience in coupling databases, multi-level analyses, longitudinal analyses and missing data-analyses is an important plus. You are willing to further develop these skills.
You are a constructive teamplayer, open for multidisciplinary feedback.
You are enthousiast, show resilience and sense of responsibility.
We offer a fulltime position for a period of 4 years, starting immediately and with an evaluation after 6 months. The research must result in a doctoral thesis after 4 years.
