In early 2019, the University of Adelaide released a bold Strategic Plan, to pursue change built on a foundation of a long and remarkable history of achievement; and to align the spirit of innovation and progressive thinking with the pursuit of contemporary excellence that matches the broader community's needs and aspirations. ~~ ~~ Serving a workforce of over 6,000 employees, the Director of Organisational Performance is a strategic thinker and experienced change practitioner responsible for supporting the University in developing workplace culture, capability, and performance. Responsible for setting the direction for a small team that is accountable for designing strategies, frameworks, and tools to support talent management, change and organisational design including coordination of diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Under new leadership, you will report to the Executive Director of Human Resources and be part of a newly formed leadership team that will enable you to be an architect of change, creating a positive impact to thousands of careers by designing and implementing contemporary programs to encourage staff engagement, leadership development and professional development across the University with a key focus to support leaders in building a culture consistent with the stated organisational values and behaviour expectations.

Knowledge and experience required to be successful in role:

  • Post-Graduate qualifications in HR Management, Business Management, or a relevant field partnered with Executive experience within a complex organisation
  • Successful implementation of enterprise-wide Organisational Development strategy
  • Proven track record in leading, coaching, motivating and building a high- performing team of HR professionals
  • Ability to engage, partner with and influence Senior Managers and Executives
  • Evidence of successfully driving transformational change and leading complex projects
  • Experience with sophisticated strategy framework methods and tools that contribute to creating a sustainable and diverse workforce
  • A sound understanding of the use of information technology to support business processes and process change management
