Job Summary
Reporting to the Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA), the Director of
Weekend College (DWC-AI) provides leadership for TCC Connect Campus's
Weekend College Division and accelerated initiatives, acting as a source of
instructional support for weekend college staff. This position will plan,
direct, and coordinate the Weekend College Degree Program for TCC. The DWC-AI
works with other TCC Academic Affairs and Student Services areas to provide
support for the enrollment, registration, certification, and records processes
specific to this degree program.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Performance Requirements
Responsible for weekend college operations and the accelerated initiatives
for the TCC Connect Campus including the building of the class schedule of
classrooms, laboratories, operations, and events for each semester, in
consultation with the President's Executive Team to facilitate optimum
student enrollment in courses that lead to certificates and degrees
Develops and initiates credit opportunities for adult learners who are
enrolled in the Weekend College program and accelerated initiatives; works
with campus personnel to identify new programs and services that will meet
the needs of the Weekend College program's diverse audience
Assists the VPAA and Divisional Dean in the functions and tasks necessary
to provide effective administration and supervision of the weekend college
and its staff, while reaching a diverse audience
Works with on-duty police, student development personnel, staff, and full-
time and adjunct faculty to ensure maximum utilization of facilities
including the smooth operation of the campus during weekend hours
Works with the Executive Director of Communications, PR and Marketing to
develop advertisements to promote the Weekend College and other
accelerated initiatives
Works with the Director of Student Development Services to develop student
life and student engagement activities for Weekend College and accelerated
program students and helps facilitate recruitment and retention
Facilitates an effective two-way channel of communication between the
administration and the faculty and staff that are supporting the assigned
programs, as well as lateral communication between divisions
Serves as the College's primary accelerated studies certifying official;
acts as the first point of contact on issues related to Weekend College
programs and services
Represents the Weekend College on various committees; provides information
to students and diverse community members who may be interested in
enrolling in classes
Develops and administers operational budgets for all service areas and
assigned offices, to utilize campus space effectively, and provide
statistical data and reports
Serves in a lead role to develop and implement training for all service
areas and assigned offices
Assists with, provides support for, and makes appropriate referrals to the
Director of Student Development Services for disciplinary issues; Provides
support for, and makes appropriate referrals to the VPAA on academic
issues
Makes appropriate calls and referrals for situations that need immediate
attention in student support services and emergency matters
Responsible for the administration of student evaluations of faculty for
weekend classes, as requested
Supervises, directs, and evaluates staff performance, and directs faculty
performance; works with staff and faculty to develop and implement
accountability procedures and systems specific to Weekend College and
accelerated initiatives and programs
General Supervision and Management
Responsible for personnel management, evaluation of work, and the
professional development of Weekend College direct reports
Service Excellence
Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations
and associations as assigned to support the essential performance
requirements
Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a
work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
Completes all required training and professional development sessions
sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence,
student success, innovation, and creativity and service to the College
Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

Works under the general supervision of the Vice President of Academic
Affairs

Required Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree, including 18 graduate hours in a teaching field
Four (4) years' working experience related to the Essential Performance
Requirements
Two (2) years' experience supervising (e.g., managing, evaluating the
performance of others; leading projects and processes)
One (1) year experience teaching in higher education
Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate degree
Experience with interdisciplinary programming and learning communities
Experience working in higher education administration
Experience working with higher education and adult learning programs
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with
diverse populations
Skilled using computer applications and enterprise systems, including word
processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and a setting
that is diverse and urban
Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems

well as State and Federal regulations

classroom management and discipline-related strategies
Knowledge of formulation of transfer and articulation agreements
Knowledge of policy formulation and analysis methods to establish
departmental policies and to provide effective guidance in decision-making
Skilled in written and verbal communication, while also being able to
establish personal and professional credibility with both internal and
external constituents
Ability to work effectively in a collaboration-oriented and diverse
workplace
Ability to listen actively and demonstrate understanding to a diverse
population of students, faculty, staff, and community members
