Working Title Director of Vocational Nursing Program
Position Status Full Time

General Summary
The Director of Vocational Nursing is responsible and accountable for overall
program leadership, development, direction, program planning, implementation
and evaluation and administration of the nursing education program(s).
Ensures the program stays in compliance with all laws and regulations of the
Board and, Accrediting Body of the program, and the accrediting body of the
governing institution. Oversees all student recruitment and selection
processes. Maintains records for the program. Maintains all reporting data for
the program. Maintains congruency and synergy with the other nursing programs;
directly reports to the Dean for the School of Health Sciences.
Specific Position Duties
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of teaching, board policies, and accreditation expectations.
Plan, manage, and evaluate all aspects of the program.
Develop, implement, and oversee the program budget.
Manage and evaluate all program faculty and staff.
Responsible for developing policies and procedures for the nursing program
Oversees faculty and staff.
Effectively manages the routine, day-to-day operations of the department, as delegated by the Dean.
Submits all required reports and data promptly to the Dean and all approval and accrediting bodies.
Maintains effective relationships with professional counterparts throughout the college and the community.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge related to student advisement on degree plans and degree applications to comply with completion requirements
Manages recruiting, marketing, and outreach
Actively participates in college functions and events and engages in community service.

Manage all day-to-day operations of the program.
Lead and oversee evaluations of faculty.
Support faculty in core program outcome documentation and assist in the assessment.
Oversee curricular development and changes in collaboration with the faculty.

Attend all completion ceremonies for Odessa College and nursing programs.
Perform other duties as you requested.
Direct the schedule builds for the program.
Initial signature forms (leave, incompletes, student schedule changes, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications
Hold an unencumbered current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Texas;
Minimum Associate degree, bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of faculty/higher education experience.
