Position Details
The Davison Health Center provides an array of services for Wesleyan students including sick visits, allergy and immunization services, travel consultation, laboratory and dispensary services, and specialty clinics for gynecological care, sexual health and wellness services, HIV counseling and testing, and nutrition counseling.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students (DOS) the Director oversees the Davison Health Center and is responsible for leadership in the development, implementation and assessment of ambulatory services, health center programming, policies and procedures, budget management and long-range planning for the future of the center. The Director ensures compliance with state licensure and national accreditation standards.
The Director supervises the Medical Director, Director of Counseling and Psychological Services, Medical Office Manager, nursing coordinator and a part-time nutritionist, and has indirect supervision of all other health center staff.
The Director works collaboratively with many campus partners including the Office of the VPSA, Residential Life, Public Safety, Athletics, International and Graduate Student Services and is often first point of contact for seeking or relaying information.

This position is required to work on campus.

Minimum Qualifications
Advanced degree in a public health, healthcare administration, business administration or a related field and a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in managing an ambulatory outpatient center, health center, private practice, community health center or related work on an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
Knowledge of federal and state laws, accrediting body's regulations and standards, quality improvement and electronic medical records management
Demonstrated effectiveness in budgeting; staff supervision; facility operations; and strategic planning.
Demonstrated ability in cultivating relationships, collaborating, and developing partnerships with a range of stakeholders.
Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of health center administration,
Demonstrated ability to track, compile and present pertinent data to monitor performance and create forecasts related to short and long term departmental objectives
Demonstrated skill in effective problem identification and resolution as a method of sound decision making
Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
Knowledge of health and wellness programming
Experience managing health services related issues and concerns.
Effective communication skills
Demonstrated commitment to work within a diverse environment and interact openly with
individuals of different backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with college student population
