We announce a selection process for a Director of the Institute of Plant
Molecular Biology (IPMB) for a new five-year term beginning July 1, 2022.
The IPMB is one of the five institutes of the Biology Centre of the Czech
Academy of Sciences (BC), the fourth largest branch of the Academy of
Sciences of the Czech Republic.
Job Description:

Employment relationship: Employment contract
Type of employment: Management and research
Duration: five years (with the possibility of extension)
Status of the position: Full-time
Start date: July 1, 2022

PRIMARY TASKS:
• Conceptual, organisational, economic and personnel supervision of scientific
research and other activities in the respective scientific area
• Evaluating the scientific work and assessing the performance of subordinate
employees
• Ensuring the management of financial resources within the approved budget
• Advertisement of vacant positions in the institute
• Determining salaries, job descriptions and job classifications for the
Institute's staff in accordance with the BC Rules
OTHER TASKS:
• Active participation in research either as
• a member of an existing research group
• or as a leader of a new research group (this applies to external
applicants; the terms and conditions for establishing a new group will be
negotiated at the interview)
